Middle School Spiritual Life
Weekly Chapel
Chapels are an intricate part of DCA’s mission to impart spiritual truths to every student. God’s Word is the foundation of the mission and vision of DCA’s core values.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.” Deuteronomy 6:5-7
AXIOS
Axios is DCA’s middle school leadership discipleship program. Axios means Worthy! This leadership program prepares students to excel both spiritually and emotionally. With the ever-increasing challenge to capture our student's attention, it is essential that we create a space that fosters growth and emphasizes spiritual development.

“I, therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner WORTHY of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
Ephesian 4:1-3
6th Grade Retreat
Our sixth grade students go on a 2 to 3 day retreat, usually to a mountain conference center. This “mountain-top” adventure is designed to give students an opportunity to learn, grow, and build relationships with the Lord and each other. During their stay, students will attend chapel services led by Desert Christian Academy staff members as well as guest speakers. They will participate in a variety of team-building activities and small group discussions.
7th Grade Retreat
Our seventh grade students go on a 3 day retreat to theThousand Pines Science Camp in Crestline, CA (by Arrowhead). They spend their time learning about different aspects of nature and the world and God's design and purpose behind it. Students challenge themselves in a variety of team-building, social, academic, and personal ways through hikes, classes, activities, chapel, and devotionals.
